THE CROFT STUDIO, established in 1968, is the home of the Budge family,
Daisy, Pamela and Donald, who can be seen working together on the
premises.
Founder Daisy Budge (nee Jepson) born 1914 in Leeds, and a scholarship
student at Leeds College of Art, first saw the Isle of Skye when sailing
the west coast with her father. She loved it so much that she returned
several times and later married islander, Roderick Budge of Dunvegan.
When work took them to England, Daisy taught art in private schools for
years, but her love of Skye remained strong and she retired to Skye in
1968 to open THE CROFT STUDIO.

Pamela
Budge (nee Mead) born in Wiltshire near to
Stonehenge,
grew up with a love of ancient history and the natural world. She
married Donald Budge in 1972 and moved with him to the
Isle of Skye
to help Daisy extend the range of artwork in THE CROFT STUDIO. Pamela
has been working here for over 30 years now and specializes in wild life
studies as well as the wonderful scenery of the west coast, Celtic
designs and mythology.
Donald Budge trained and worked for many years as a litho printer before
joining his mother Daisy in THE CROFT STUDIO. He produces high quality
Giclee prints and greetings cards from Daisy and Pamela’s original
artwork, and runs an extensive framing service offering a wide selection
of mouldings. Donald operates a computerized mount-cutting machine and
provides a service stretching tapestries and cross-stitch, available
throughout the year.
Daisy’s and
Pamela’s
paintings hang in homes all over the world - Commissions welcome! |
